Tokyo, March 9, 2026 – JAPAN VAM & POVAL CO.,LTD. (JVP) (Head Office: Sakai, Osaka, Japan, President Yoshihiro Kimura) announced that it will increase the sales price of its Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA). This increase will go into effect for shipments on April 1, 2026.
In response to the sharp surge in raw material and fuel prices resulting from the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, JVP has decided to implement an urgent price increase for PVA as follows,
| Area | Price Increase |
| Asia Pacific | USD400/MT |
| North America | USD400/MT |
| South America | USD400/MT |
| Middle East & Africa | USD400/MT |
| Europe | EUR350/MT |
We have received a “Notice of Force Majeure Event” from our key raw material supplier and have been compelled to reduce production. Should the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz be prolonged, the situation is expected to become even more severe.
We will promptly contact you through your sales representative as soon as any changes in the situation are confirmed.
Please contact your local sales representative with any questions regarding this price increase.
